Chart Toppers: On This Day in 1996 Keith Sweat’s “Nobody” featuring Athena Cage Topped the R&B Charts
On November 30, 1996, Keith Sweat’s “Nobody” reached number one on the Billboard R&B singles chart. “Nobody” was released as the second single from Keith Sweat’s eponymous fifth studio album. Serving as the follow up to the album’s number one lead single, “Twisted,” “Nobody” was Sweat’s last single to reach number one on the R&B chart. The song remained number one for three consecutive weeks. With the help of Kut Klose vocalist, Athena Cage, “Nobody” became a signature slow jam amongst the New Jack Swing generation.
