This week in 1996, En Vogue’s Grammy nominated single, “Don’t Let Go (Love)” held the number four slot on The Billboard R&B chart. “Don’t Let Go (Love)” was originally featured on the Set It Off motion picture soundtrack. The song peaked at number one on the R&B chart and number two on The Billboard Hot 100, making it the group’s biggest hit to date. The success of the hit single couldn’t prevent the group’s breakup however. In 1997, Dawn Robinson left the group and joined Lucy Pearl; after which she went on to pursue a solo career.
