Del Travar is a singer, songwriter and performer from Richmond, Virginia. The son of musicians, he performed his first solo in church, at the age of 7. Energized by the audience and a love for music, Del continued to seek opportunities to share the gift of music with others. Following high school, his personal aspirations led him to North Carolina Central University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Finance and became a member of a prestigious fraternity. After graduation, he took a leap of faith and set his sights on achieving his musical dreams. Inspired by the energy of American Idol, Del auditioned for Randy, Paula, Simon, and celebrity judge Mark McGrath. They sent him to Hollywood where he successfully made it through the semi-final round. Del has continued to be in the limelight as a backup singer and landed TV spots. His “boy next door” quality and charm garnered him a TV commercial — as the face of Richmond’s American Family Fitness health club. Pulling from a wide range of inspirations such as Donnie Hathaway, Phil Collins and Hall & Oates, Del Travar’s style is eclectic, innovative, and honest. Known as a humble artist, his messages through song have touched a wide range of listeners. With an EP released earlier this year featuring songs both written and arranged by this talented young man, Del Travar is carving out his place in music and the performing arts.
