New York City based Blues / Hip-Hop duo CharlieRED premieres the new track “GreenGREED” today. It is from the forthcoming release MUSE., which drops on August 20th. This is the first new cut since releasing the Religion EP back in December (iTunes / Amazon). Noisey noted “Rocki Evans’ voice is soulful and scratchy in a Robert Johnson way, and Cobaine Ivory’s beats are great … [Religion]is worth your time.”
Evans states, “’GreenGREED’ is an intense, abrasive and revolutionary reminder of what society has forced us to value. A passionate attempt to bring focus back to genuine care rather than ‘green greed.’ I toyed with the idea, ‘What if love was the value America based its society on?’ Like, if a hug could pay for gas?”
CharlieRED’s sound offers pure authenticity and truth, serving as a perfect representation of the greatest eras in music history. Cobaine Ivory, a classical composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist is the pulse for each song, crafting individual instruments by hand. Rocki Evans compliments that pulse with raw, uninhibited vocals and lyrics with an unmatched vulnerability.
Shows in support of MUSE. will be announced in the coming weeks. A must see live act, CharlieRED has made many high profile appearances while opening for the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Marsha Ambrosius, Big KRIT and Melanie Fiona and including involvement with BET’s Music Matters Showcase.
