Last night, Daley kicked off his North American tour in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The show was held at The Media Club which is known for its intimate atmosphere. Music fans have been hungry for some good R&B music for a minute and it definitely showed as they were waiting Daley to come on stage. The anticipation reached its peak as Daley and his band finally hopped on stage to give the crowd one of UK’s best new talents. Daley’s set was a combination of records from his “Alone Together” EP, his upcoming debut album and his “Those Who Wait” mixtape. Along with his own material, Daley also made sure to give a shout out to one of his biggest influences Maxwell by covering the classic “Pretty Wings” record. He also cleverly incorporated some of his own favorite R&B records such as Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ About You”, Usher’s “Climax” and “Nice & Slow” by blending in those with his own “Love Lost” interlude. The UK soul singer took some time to announce that he’s finished recording his album and then proceeded to perform a new song off that CD called “Good News”, his current single “Look Up” and his upcoming single “Broken”. It’s unlikely that everyone at The Media Club knew who Daley was when he entered the building, but there’s no denying that he gained some new fans with his voice. His performance of “Remember Me” (minus Jessie J) left a great impression as the entire venue was singing Jessie J’s part. If Daley’s goal with this tour is to gain new fans in North America to go with his big following in the UK, he has at least succeeded in Vancouver.
