It’s crazy to think about it, but Babygirl would have ONLY been 31 years old today. She accomplished so much in her life from such an early age, that she did more by the age of 22 when she passed than most do in a full career. Whether it be singing, acting or anything else she dabbled in, it all seemed to come easy to this natural talent. “Steady Ground” is a leftover from her 2001 self titled “Aaliyah” album and was written by frequent collaborator Static Major. When I think it’s been nearly ten years since she has passed, and I listen to a song like this, it kinda hits me like Damn, imagine how much good music we missed out on because she left so soon.
I feel you!! I can’t even imagine how many more gems she had not even got to sing yet. Thank you for this exclusive!! Never heard it before and I’m a big Aaliyah fan. The melody to this is so beautiful. Static you did your thing with this my dude!
