The Compound Foundation and The Boys and Girls Club teamed up for the 6th Annual Compound Foundation Giving Tour, working to create awareness and action towards their goal of helping underprivileged youth and foster care children. As founder of The Compound Foundation, NE-YO made a tour stop this time around in New Jersey at The Boys and Girls Club in Newark. Five hundred local children ages 3-18 were in attendance and provided with toys, sneakers, clothing, electronics and bicycles at the Newark event. Guests for the event included Mayor Cory Booker, Superbowl champion Deon Grant and owner of clothing brand Pastry, Angela Simmons. Each addressed the eager crowd of children on stage before taking to the auditorium where children had their choice of toy and got a chance to meet and take pictures with Ne-Yo and the other guests. The event went great, and judging by the smiles on the children’s faces, it definitely made a difference in brightening their holiday spirits!
