Last night at BB King’s in NYC, Brian McKnight performed two shows in front of consecutive packed crowds. Not only did he put on a show, but he laid a perfect blueprint of how all rnb artists should aspire to entertain their audience. Brian commanded the stage with perfect presence, constantly interacting with the crowd and keeping them cheering all night. He opened with am extended version of “Find Myself in You”, ending acapella and showcasing his flawless vocal range. In between performing new songs from his recently released album, he also took the time to graciously thank his fans for the support over the 21 years of his career; and promising another 21. Brian then proceeded to call an adoring fan on stage who he proceeded to serenade with “Another You”. He followed this up with a special performance of “How Much You Mean To Me”, a tribute to the superstars we’ve lost too young which included a video tribute on the screens flanking the stage. By the end, many in the room were emotional including Brian himself who mentioned he’d try to avoid getting choked up. Perhaps the most special moment of the whole evening was during his performance of “Back at One”, a man proposed to his wife right in front of the stage and she accepted. This led Brian to comment on how powerful love was. To conclude the show, he went into his timeless classic “Anytime” followed by his latest singles “Sweeter” and “Fall 5.0”. It was an amazing night all around, and if you ever have a chance to see Brian McKnight live in your city, the ticket price is well worth the cost!
