Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending a Tank Acoustic Conversation event hosted by Singersroom. The event was only open to about 100 people or so, and turned out being a very intimate experience. As you can see from the videos below, Tank took us through the hits he had over the course of his career and gave some background in between each song. He also performed Omarion’s “O” since he wrote it and explained that’s when he first really started getting his “mailbox money” for writing hits for other artists. As you can see, the whole performance was acoustic and featured just Tank on the piano accompanied by his backup singers. Following the set, he took candid questions from fans about anything they wanted to know and graciously answered over ten. Tank came off very personable and has a great personality full of energy and is even pretty funny. Of note was that he mentioned “I Can’t Make You Love Me” was pitched to him by Atlantic CEO Craig Kallman (who I interviewed previously) who felt it would be a perfect song for him to cover. Overall, the event was a big success and Singersroom did a great job putting this together!
