Much respect to RL—he gave a lot of great insight into the inner workings of today’s music industry.
However, I have to disagree with him on one point: I consider Brandy to be a full-fledged artist, not just a performer or vocalist. She may not produce her own music, but I can tell that she is in complete control of her creative output. She has done a considerable amount of songwriting, both for herself and others. Not to mention the fact that she does all her own vocal production. All of those classic, layered three- or four-part harmonies? Those are all Brandy. And they are really what sets her apart from the rest.
Also, Aphrodisiac > Full Moon, haha!
Damn these podcast just keep getting better and better. Keep it up guys. RL was a great addition to this podcast to give real insight on the music business.
