As a unique way of releasing her upcoming single “I Love Myself”, rnb legend Chaka Khan has introduced a lip synching contest for the song’s upcoming video. Although the full song won’t be released until February 19th, Chaka is allowing fans to submit a one minute video clip of themselves singing along to the song’s chorus which can be heard here. She hopes to spread a message of self esteem and acceptance with he upcoming song and video, and hopes the contest will allow us to celebrate the diversity of the human experience.
Winners of the contest will have a clip of themselves featured in the upcoming video for “I Love Myself”. The video will be used as a vehicle to help prevent against all forms of bullying and violence as well as encourage others. Additionally, a portion of the songs proceeds will go to “Stomp Out Bullying” and “Face Forward Inc.”. Full details and the chorus of the song are provided on the link above.
Chaka Khan has not released a new album of original material in nearly a decade, so it will be exciting to see if this leads towards the next project.
