Lucky Daye Fly U Out Leon Thomas

GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Lucky Daye has officially unveiled his latest single, “Fly U Out.” Available now via Warner Records, the sumptuous, low-lit track serves as a magnetic collaboration with fellow multi-hyphenate GRAMMY® winner Leon Thomas, exploring the timeless pursuit of love across physical distance.

“Fly U Out” is constructed on a foundation of misty acoustic guitars, a deep, rumbling low end, and hushed percussion. The production sets the stage for a romantic dialogue between two individuals exhausted by pretending they don’t miss each other.

Daye initiates the track with a straightforward proposition: “All of these texts ain’t enough, all of these pictures / Just because I ain’t wit ya… Baby take off, hurry up / Need your attention, I’ll be sending your ticket.”

Thomas subsequently responds with a dose of romantic hesitation, leaving the possibility of a deeper connection hanging in the balance: “Yeah, you all about me, but you ain’t mine…”

The single continues to highlight Daye’s signature artistry—pushing the boundaries of modern R&B without severing ties to the genre’s deeply rooted traditions of live-band soul, emotional precision, and lush romance.

“Fly U Out” arrives as the second glimpse into Daye’s highly anticipated forthcoming studio album. It follows the release of “Nowhere Fast,” the D’Mile-produced track that served as Daye’s debut release since joining the Warner Records roster. While “Nowhere Fast” introduced a minimal, emotionally open sound that asked listeners to slow down, “Fly U Out” actively pulls them closer, showcasing the expansive, sensual creative universe promised on the upcoming project.

The new release arrives during a remarkably prolific season for the R&B auteur. Earlier this year, Daye joined Ms. Lauryn Hill for a star-studded tribute to D’Angelo at the 68th Annual GRAMMY® Awards. He also secured his second GRAMMY® win in 2025 (Best Traditional R&B Performance) for “That’s You,” the lead single from his acclaimed third album, Algorithm.

His collaborative footprint has also continued to expand, featuring recent work with Chris Brown (“Slow Jamz”), Teyana Taylor (“Hard Part”), Alessia Cara, and Tori Kelly. Over the course of his career, which includes standout projects like 2019’s Painted and 2022’s Candydrip, Daye has amassed an impressive 13 GRAMMY® nominations across his own projects and his songwriting work for artists like Mary J. Blige.

Looking ahead, Daye is preparing to bring his new era to the stage. He is slated to headline Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Live in Brooklyn on September 10, marking one of his most significant live showcases of the year.

“Fly U Out” is available to stream and download now across all major digital platforms.
