Santana was able to revitalize their careers in the late 90’s by managing to blend their brand of latin rock in collaborations with some of music’s biggest superstars. Of course, it all started with Rob Thomas on “Smooth” and continued on with “Maria Maria” featuring the Product G&B. On their next album “Shaman” in 2002, the group continued the same formula and delivered us this great collaboration with Musiq Soulchild. What’s interesting about the song is it was actually written by Rob Thomas, the star from “Smooth” and former lead singer of Matchbox 20.
