This song was produced by Kanye West and written by Harold Lily. It was around the same time that these two musicians created Alicia Key’s “U Don’t Know My Name” and Brandy’s “Talk About Our Love”. This is one of those songs that just sounds good. Kanye did a good job of flipping the B.T. Express “Close To You” sample, and violinist Miri Ben-Ari really added that special touch to it with the strings near the end of the song. Add all of that with Janet’s soft, sweet vocals (listen to the way she sings “Boooo” at around the 3:17 mark) and you get a great song. I also have to give props to Harold Lily for penning this track because that see-saw line is great.
