Throughout the 90’s, Blackstreet managed to have a very successful run and “Don’t Leave Me” was one of their two number 1 singles. The beat for this song, which was sampled from DeBarge’s hit “A Dream,” was actually sampled soon before and after this song on 2Pac’s “I Aint Mad At Ya” and Mary J. Blige’s “A Dream.” Interestingly, the original DeBarge song found more success after each of these successive songs came out sampling the beat.
