Just a few weeks ago, we introduced you to Willie Hyn, an artist who recently signed to Musiq Soulchild’s label. This came as Musiq was bringing Willie along with him to perform on each stop of his Nu Soul Revival Tour.
As a result, we knew Willie Hyn would be a perfect artist to book for our Sol Village showcase; and we did just that.
Last night, we got to witness potential history as a star in the making took the SOB’s stage. As a special surprise, and to the great excitement of the audience, Willie Hyn also had Musiq Soulchild come perform with him on stage.
The duo then went on to perform their collaborative records that they’d been working on over the past couple of years. Although Musiq said he was there to sing backgrounds for his young protege, the pair shared the spotlight, such as on songs like “FlowerCHiiLD” from Wllie’s “13 Roses” album.
Willie Hyn’s energy on stage was infectious as he closed out his set with a ratchet song in comparison to the more soulful offering from earlier in the evening. You could see Musiq gazing on from the corner of the stage in admiration of the young star he’s helping to nurture. Last night was only the start.
