New Music: John West – Lovely (featuring Pusha T)

This is my first time hearing blue eyed soul singer John West, and I must say he does have soul! Now how long until we start hearing the comparisons to Robin Thicke simply based off of the color of his skin? Those would be criminal as although they might have the same skin tone, they don’t have the same tone of voice or style at all from what I can hear. I’m very curious to hear what’s next from John and in what direction he goes with the music. Did anyone else pick out the sample used on this song? I believe it’s Bobby Glenn’s “Sounds Like a Love Song” which was also used for Jay-Z’s “Song Cry”.

    he’s a regular street performer on 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica. This is my favorite of his songs and never knew he recorded a version like this.
