“So Glad” is a currently unreleased song by r&b star Chris Brown which was recorded around the time of his self titled debut album back in 2005. The song was actually included as a bonus track on some versions of the debut, but most never got a chance to hear it. Even more interesting about the song is it includes background vocals from a young Ne-Yo, well before his debut album “In My Own Words” would release and he became a household name.
The song was produced by the legendary duo of Carvin & Ivan, who of course have had a major impact on r&b through the years. In fact, when we did a feature on Ivan’s favorite songs he produced a few years back, he gave us some insight into this rare song and working with a young Chris Brown. Here’s what he had to say:
Ivan: “Another song that got lost. We were one of the first people to get in the studio with Chris back when he was like 15 years old. You could tell he was super talented from the beginning. We had a basketball court in the studio at that time and he couldn’t wait to finish recording to go upstairs and play ball.”
Damn this song is hooott!!
