We first heard this song on an advance copy of Donell Jones’ 2006 album “Journey of a Gemini” and for a couple of years wondered how this had never been released on an album. A couple of months back, I did have the opportunity to ask Donell himself on Twitter that exact question, and I believe (but don’t quote me on this, it’s been some time) he said the label felt the song sounded too much like Michael Jackson’s “Lady in my Life.” I didn’t hear it at first, but now that I take a closer listen, I can see what they mean. Regardless, it’s still a very good song; nice work Donell.
