Mike City pulls another unreleased gem from the vault, this time in surprising fashion with a Jazmine Sullivan song he produced called “Life is Good”. This was recorded back in the early 2000’s when Jazmine was still a young teen, and well before she released her debut album “Fearless” in 2008. You can trace Jazmine’s origins in music back to 2003 when she contributed her vocals to fellow Philly natives Kindred the Family Soul’s song “I Am” on their debut album “Surrender to Love”.
Mike City shared the story on the origins of creating the song “Life is Good”:
When you’re in the presence of greatness, you usually know right away..I knew Jazmine was great immediately!! She was only 14-15 yrs old and was an absolute BEAST and she STILL IS..being that today (4/9) is her b’day, i wanted to let the real R&B/Soul head hear how she was getting down BACK THEN…She cut her vocals in 1-2 takes and was under the weather too
