Last night in NYC, media were treated to a listening event for Lalah Hathaway’s upcoming live album “Lalah Hathaway LIVE!” as well as a performance from the powerhouse vocalist. The event, which was held at Ashford & Simpson’s legendary Sugar Bar, was also a celebration of jazz musician Terri Lyne Carrington’s recently released album. Both ladies premiered their latest videos and mingled with the audience, and then took the stage as Lalah took the lead vocals on “This Too Shall Pass” as well as her cover of father Donny’s “Little Ghetto Boy”. The evening concluded with Valerie Simpson coming up from the audience to explain to everyone in attendence how important it is we support artists like Lalah and Terri. Check out some of our pictures from this special evening.
