Dynamic soul singer Avery*Sunshine has just released an acoustic video for her song “Prayer Room” alongside husband and guitar player Dana “Big Dane” Johnson.
The singer added about the song:
“When I am not strong enough or not even aware enough to repeat mantras or anthems, I do believe that God is there. I am reminded when I see my children, every time I go to write music or when I look at my husband. Every show I play and someone says ‘I needed that song you wrote and it got me through something.’ I am reminded that I have a responsibility. We have enough darkness and pain, there is enough of that already. We have got to be champions for positivity and light.”
The impactful song is included on her recently released album “Twenty Sixty Four”, which features organic soulful in-the- pocket grooves, sublime ballads, exquisite arrangements/orchestrations and exuberant life affirming tracks.
The vocals shine throughout, the production is tight and the songwriting hits home. “Twenty Sixty Four” also features a few guest appearances, including Mr. Talkbox (Bruno Mars, NSYNC, Erica Campbell), Frank McComb (Prince, Branford Marsalis, Lalah Hathaway) and recent Grammy winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold (Maxwell, Jay-Z, BeyoncĂ©, Common, Gregory Porter). “These are some big milestones that I am really excited about,” shares Avery*Sunshine. Twenty Sixty Four further asserts the consummate artist as one of the best things to happen in R&B in the past decade.
