In 2000, Raphael Saadiq of Tony! Toni! Toné!, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest formed the group “Lucy Pearl”. Their songs were featured on many compilations and soundtracks in the months leading up to their debut album. That self titled album feature the hit single “Dance Tonight” which was featured on the soundtrack to the film “Love and Basketball“.
