Last Saturday, Grammy-nominated artist Mack Wilds performed at a fashion show held at Macy’s in Herald Square. The event, produced in coordination with Teen Vogue magazine, showcased the 2014 Macy’s prom dress selection and Sean John clothing line. Throngs of his young fans – which he dubs his ‘Wild Things’ – and curious shoppers packed around the runway and danced along to the beats provided by acclaimed DJ Reg West. Young models dressed in the latest fashions waltzed down the runway to the Top 40 hits.
When Mack Wilds took the stage, the flock of his ‘Wild Things’ shrieked with delight. The young artist opened his set with his track ‘My Crib’ as the fans sung in near perfect unison to every lyric and ad lib. He seamlessly transitioned from the heavy-hitting ‘Wild Things’ track into crooning ‘Keepin It Real’ and his cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘Remember the Time’ to his adoring fans. A homemade canvas sign got Wilds’ attention and he posed for several photos, thanking its creator.
The set ended with his smash single ‘Own It’ written by Ne-Yo and produced by Salaam Remi. The contagious energy was captured by a sea of cell phones recording the action and professional videographers. Wilds continued to show his appreciation for the fans with a special meet-and-greet autograph session following the event.
