This past Saturday night The Soul Factory Presents was overrun with Indie Soul Talent!
1st up was beautiful songstress Felicia Temple hitting the stage with an uptempo cover Estelle’s ” American Boy “. She connected with the audience immediately! 10 minutes into her set she calls an unsuspecting fella to the stage and BAM! The LRC FUNK band transitions into D’ Angelo’s “How does it feel” and serenades him like an army vet that just got home from Iraq! Gotta Love it!
Green Tea opened her set with a Cover of Michael Jackson’s ” Man in the mirror” Letting the audience know right away she is a woman of vision and integrity. Every song after that was a message of encouragement and hope. Both her and her background singers delivered harmonies like no other.
Closing out the night was Mr. Elijah Bland. The ladies batted their eyelashes as he approached the stage. When he started singing it was all over cause he had them at Hello! His performance of new singles “Hello” and “For The Record” had couples in the audience thinking ” We’re going home to make a baby tonight” His stage presence was fantastic! No over the top machismo just a classy set.
Last but not least I have to give it up for the The Soul Factory’s band LRC FUNK led by music director/magician Les Cleveland. Their unique way of giving each artist that Stadium Sound is unparalleled in NYC so far. If you don’t believe me I suggest you come to The Soul Factory’s next installment on Feb 23rd.
Miss this Miss a lot..
