Legendary producer Salaam Remi links up with veteran singer Jimmy Cozier for the late Summer groove “You Know That I Want You”. The accompanying video for the song provides a great taste of NYC in the Summer time.
The release comes as part of his “Do It For the Culture 2” campaign where he is releasing new music each week from his archives. He shraed the reasoning behind this liberation of new music during an interview on our SoulBack R&B Podcast.
In previous weeks, he’s given us songs from Nas & Amy Winehouse, Gallant, James Fauntleroy, and many more. He’s currently operating his fully independent record label “Louder Than Life” and working to push the creative bounds even further.
Louder Than Life is not only dedicated to developing and finding emerging talent, but also partnering with forward-thinking brands and relying on the street and people to help find different forms of talent. “I have a sweet spot for singer-songwriters and for people who make music that is outside of the norm,” says Salaam, “I will continue to provide that option for artists out there so people don’t feel as if they are required to fit the mold of today’s pop trends.
