There’s no doubt that despite only having out one single, Rita Ora has more buzz than just about any artist right now. Her signing to Roc Nation and early comparisons to Rihanna certainly intrigued many music fans and caused much curiosity. However, despite her good looks, and her debut pop single which has followed, she has a lot more to offer:

“I think Rita is going to shock people because she actually can really sing and she has a lot of soul to her voice”, said singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger, who was recently working with her in the studio. “When people see her, they’re probably going to think “Wow she’s so beautiful” but when they hear her sing, they’re going to be like “Whoa, Aretha Franklin!””

With comparisons to Rihanna and now soul legend Aretha Franklin, Rita has great expectations set for her so early into her career. Although her first single “How We Do (Party)” was mainly a pop single, it borrowed elements of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Party and Bullshit” which gave it some urban appeal. For her debut, we can look to expect something more soulful.

“It’s going to be a great contrast for her and it’s great because she came out with a Pop song to reel everyone in and really gain people over and then once she does that, she can show people that she has a lot more elements to her as well”, Bellinger went on to add.

There is currently no release date for Rita Ora’s untitled debut album, stay tuned for more details.
