We officially have a new rising R&B star on our hands. The Bonfyre immediately captured our attention last year when during our introduction to her, we found out she was being groomed under the tutelage of the legendary Raphael Saadiq.
Fast forward to the present day and her debut single “Automatic” has just hit #1 on the Adult R&B Airplay Charts. Her ascent to the top of the charts began 20 weeks ago and is a well deserved and impressive achievement.
The Massachusetts born and Atlanta based singer is currently signed to L.A Reid’s new music label HITCO along with Raphael Saadiq’s production company, Toler Heights Music. She caught the attention of Saadiq a few years ago, and he worked with her to develop and hone her signature soulful style.
The Bonfyre’s EP “Ready to Love” released last August and is simply a must listen. Her unique blend of 90’s R&B production and dynamic pop/R&B vocal sensibilities make it a real standout. The project really brings out a sense of nostalgia with it’s vivid lyracism, raw emotion, and of course subtle nods to hits of the past.
