Grammy-winning trombonist **Jeff “Mr. Trombone” Bradshaw** is set to release his sixth studio album, ***The Cure***, on September 12th, via Music Matters/SRG Jazz. The project, described as “musical medicine for the stress of daily life,” will be available on all major streaming platforms.
The album features a stellar lineup of collaborators, including **Grammy winners Anthony Hamilton, Dave Hollister, and Jeff Lorber**, among other notable guests from the jazz, soul, and R&B worlds.
The 10-song collection gained significant buzz following a viral moment this summer. While on tour with the Summer Horns, Bradshaw serenaded passengers on a plane that was experiencing an hours-long flight delay. The heartwarming scene quickly went viral on social media, landing the story on news outlets nationwide, including *Good Morning America*.
Bradshaw believes the album’s title is a reflection of the current climate. “The world today has a disease of heated division and negative discourse. We need a cure,” he said in a statement. “God’s love through music is The Cure.”
The album’s first single, **”Nothing Else Matters,”** was co-written by Bradshaw and Anthony Hamilton, and produced by Vidal Davis. “Vidal and I have been friends for 30 years and it was time for us to make some powerful music together,” Bradshaw explained. “Anthony decided to write a song that celebrated the special someone in your life and ‘Nothing Else Matters’ was conceived.”
Bradshaw, who is currently taking a short break from his feature spots with Dave Koz and The Summer Horns and Patti LaBelle, expressed his excitement for the release. “I loved making this album,” he stated. “It’s got some familiar grooves along with sophisticated sounds which I know will appeal to old and new fans. Each song sets a certain mood, and that’s why it’s The Cure for whatever ails ya.”
