Jaheim Primary Wave

Four time Grammy nominated R&B artist Jaheim signs a new record deal with BMG Primary Wave Label Services. The multi-platinum selling artist also confirms that he is back in the recording studio working on his seventh album, which will be released this fall/winter 2015. Jaheim will also headline the upcoming “Ladies Night R&B Extravaganza” along with Tank, K-Ci and Jojo and Avant on February 13th at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
 
“I’ve worked with a lot of different people throughout my career and signing with Primary Wave just felt right,” explains Jaheim. “Their team is creative and driven and I definitely see this as a long term and valuable relationship for my overall career.”
 
Jaheim’s debut album, Ghetto Love (2001) and sophomore album, Still Ghetto (2002), both reached RIAA platinum status and 2006’s Ghetto Classics was #1 on Billboard 200, Gold status, and sold over 153,000 copies in its first week. Throughout his successful career, Jaheim has sold over 5 million records worldwide and collaborated with artists such as Ledisi, Jadakiss, Anthony Hamilton, Keyshia Cole, Nelly and more. The R&B singer/songwriter has been nominated for multiple awards at The Grammys, BET Awards and Soul Train Music Awards, plus continues to tour and lend time to his Julie’s Dream Foundation and also Urban Dreams Foundation, a youth outreach initiative that builds affordable housing in the Newark, NJ area.

Jaheim is Primary Wave’s first label signing of 2015 and he was brought in by talent manager Steven Greener, who is a Partner at Primary Wave. The R&B artist will join Primary Wave’s current Label Roster, which includes Eric Benet, Melanie Fiona, Jagged Edge, Deborah Cox, Goapele, Calvin Richardson, among others. Last year, the new label successfully released three top-charting R&B albums and additionally, have four more albums slated for release throughout 2015. In September 2013, BMG and Primary Wave formed this strategic joint venture to release new records under BMG’s proven Artist Services model in the US. The model is designed as an alternative to the traditional major label deal, with artists retaining ownership of their copyrights and full creative control while receiving the necessary funding as well as the combined power of BMG’s global reach, worldwide administration and synch services and Primary Wave’s strong, in-house marketing team, which includes resources such as brand marketing, digital marketing, product management, press and TV/Film development.
