2016 has been a slow year in terms of r&b album releases so far, and May is not going to do much to break that trend. Last month in April we saw just two albums come out, new projects by Musiq Soulchild and Keke Wyatt. That followed March which was filled with plenty of star power with releases from Anthony Hamilton, K. Michelle, Jaheim, and Silk.
Chrisette Michele was originally scheduled to release her latest album “Milestone” during May, but it’s been pushed until June. With only three more album releases so far on tap this month, we can only hope that things pick up as the weather heats up this Summer.
JMSN – It Is – May 6th, 2016
JMSN will release his latest album “It Is” this month which is led by the singles
“Cruel Intentions” and
“Most of All”.
Slim of 112 is set to release his second solo album “Refueled” during May 2016. Although he’s still touring as part of 112 and currently celebrating the group’s 20th anniversary, he along with each of the members are recording solo projects and have no committed to a new group album. His latest solo effort features the singles
“Killin Em Girl” and
“Never Break Up”.
Ro James – May 27th, 2016 – Eldorado
Rising r&b/soul star Ro James will release his debut album “Eldorado” this month via RCA Records / Bystorm Entertainment. It contains the impactful slow jam “Permission”.
Keep the heads up coming on R&B releases
